Featured Artist Raul D’Mauries @ 3Dot Art Gallery
Oct 13 @ 6:30 pm – 11:30 pm

Join 3Dot Art Gallery Friday the 13th for compelling surreal art in the spirit of the season (Halloween)! Featured artist, Raul D’Mauries, was born in Mexico but now calls Oakland home. His work has been featured across California. Raul’s work falls in the genres of Neo-Expressionism, reminiscent of Jean-Michel Basquiat, and Surrealism, similar to Salvador Dali and René Magritte, who have strongly influenced the self-taught artist. Raul’s newest piece is titled “Pandora’s Box.” It represents his distinctive take on the myth of Pandora and her release of all the evils in the world.

Art from several other local artists will also be displayed, including creepy art pieces, monsters, and surrealistic themes in the spirit of Friday the 13th and Halloween. It’s a family friendly, FREE event, and a great way to celebrate the spirit of October.

Join us for spooky and intriguing art in the spirit of the season! All Hallows’ Eve, aka Halloween, is dedicated to remembering the dead and is a time when the boundary between this world and the Otherworld is thinned, allowing ‘spirits’ or ‘fairies’ to come into our world and play with the living.

Featured art by Raul D’Mauries includes skulls, tentacles, monsters and more. His series entitled “Early Worm Gets the Bird” includes original pieces with different birds entangled in elaborate tentacles. Raul’s newest piece is titled “Pandora’s Box.” It represents his distinctive take on the myth of Pandora and her release of all the evils in the world.

Art from several other local artists will also be displayed, including creepy art pieces, monsters, and surrealistic themes.

Sara Edge sculpts one-of-a-kind wearable art into tentacles, creatures and skulls. Her “Spirit Skull” line of wearable art is a series of copper or brass pendants featuring different animals atop human skulls.

Dave Sylvester uses his unique style to create whimsical creatures in a combination of illustration, painting and digital media. Don’t miss his coloring pages for the kids! They’re sure to be a big hit.

Arianna Siegel creates “magical realism” in mixed media, drawing from the dark side of stories including Dorian Gray and Alice in Wonderland.

Bill Weber uses a surrealistic style, inspired by Salvador Dalí, to express views on culture and society. Don’t miss his newest piece entitle “Hell”.

This is a family friendly, FREE event, and a great way to celebrate the spirit of October. There will be activities for the kids and an engaging time for adults as well!
